Taylor Street Closure Shuttle Bus Reroutes
Phase two of traffic calming measures near the hospital starts March 19 at 8:30 p.m.
In this phase, curb extensions and a raised crosswalk across Taylor Street at Hermitage Avenue will be installed. For this work, Taylor St. will be closed from Paulina Street to Wood Street and construction is expected to take eight weeks to complete.
During this time, UIC shuttle buses will be rerouted and the UIC Ride app will be updated to indicate where the buses will stop. Due to the Taylor St. closure, buses will not make the following stops:
- Roosevelt and Paulina
- Taylor and Wood (UI Health)
- Taylor and Wolcott
- Taylor and Damen
New stops will be added on Polk St. to provide westbound service:
- Pink Line
- Polk and Wolcott

Also, the west campus remote parking shuttle stop at the hospital will be temporarily relocated to Paulina Street, directly across from the Paulina Street Parking Structure. Signage will be placed to indicate the new stop.
